1986 Anita earned a silver disc for her hit record Anyone Can Fall In Love which reached number 4 in the charts**

1987 – The Jeans Industry ‘Rear of the Year’

Female Jewellery Wearer of the Year

1988 – National Hairdressers’ Federation Female Hairstyle of the Year

1996 – The Glasgow Herald Golden Angel Award for Outstanding Contribution to Culture and Arts

2004 – The Grand Order of Water Rats & Ratlings Awarded Anita with The Show-Business Personality of the year at their Annual Water Rats Ball in November of that year

2003 – Anita was also nominated For Best Actress at The Laurence Olivier Awards for her role as Nancy in Frozen at Birmingham Rep and went on to reprise the role which transferred to The Royal National Theatre’s Cottesloe Theatre where she received stunning reviews.

2005 – whatsonstage.com The People’s Choice Award for Best Take-over Role as Mrs Meers in Thoroughly Modern Millie

2007 – Anita was honoured for her work with Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) Students a special Companionship Award by Sir Paul McCartney for assisting students in Masterclass and Q & A Sessions

2016 – Anita has been awarded The Freedom of the City of London on 4 February (if you are not sure what this entails, look it up on Google)

** An Album On My Own followed her success of Anyone Can Fall In Love and Anita also hit the best sellers list for her book My East End. Anita released another album  Talking Of Love, written and produced by Queen’s Brian May, from which the single Talking of Love hit the singles chart. **

Anita has also won Evening Standard and London Theatre Critics Awards.

Anita is patron of the theatre charity the Music Hall of Fame of Great Britain and America
